As soon as I saw that Toutant was closing, I made a reservation for dinner and for brunch! Toutant has always been delicious and this last time did not disappoint. We sat on the second floor and the whole restaurant was packed! Service was a little slow for drinks, but again every table, bar stool and spot to stand was taken! We ordered the burnt ends special which was the best!, cornbread, Nashville hot chicken, gumbo (chicken and sausage) and the fried chicken. Had to get the beignets for dessert. Toutant, you will be missed!

Wowza. This place exceeded my expectations. The candied yams were so so good - best part of the meal for me, I would love to come back and get those again. My sister liked her shrimp and grits. The chicken was very good. Burnt ends were very tasty. We also loved the drinks we got. The service was excellent. Ambiance is great its so cute and warm and cozy in there. Will def come back.

All The food was phenomenal, truly cooked very well. 10/10. The service we received as also 10/10, our waiter was attentive and offered suggestions when we couldn't decide what we wanted to order which is so nice. The vibe and ambiance was nice and chilly, it was a nice evening.

I have heard amazing things about this restaurant for years and finally had the opportunity to try it out. Overall it was a great experience. The interior has exposed brick and an overall really cool look and vibe. The lower level is the bar but no dinner seating. There are two upper levels of seating with the bathrooms located on the third. We were on the third (which we joked was a workout to earn our food) but it was nice because it was quieter and seemed really private. The menu is on the smaller side but unless you have someone that is a super picky eater there should be something to please everyone. Between our party we shared several appetizers. My husband loved the cornbread but I didn't . To me the texture seemed a lot off. A favorite was the pork rinds. We were there during Thanksgiving so they had a stuffing/Sage flavor that was perfection. We added the pimento cheese and while the two went well together, i could also have eaten the pimento by the spoonful on its own, My entree was the bbq of the day which was a brisket. It was tender and seasoned perfectly. It came with coleslaw which I don't love so they let me swap it out for grits instead. My husband had the jambalaya and devoured it because it was so good. The portion sizes are fairly generous. The downside is that it is really pricy, especially if you get drinks. It is worth it for a splurgy experience, but definitely means it isn't a place we'd be able to frequent.

Toutant is always a great meal with great service! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner before a Sheas show. We started out with a cocktail each: mint julep and Ways and Means. Both were great! Then we enjoyed a special: celery root gratin, which was tasty! Our entrees were the sausage, chicken gumbo special and the shrimp and grits. Both had wonderful flavor and tasted authentic. We had the bread pudding for dessert, which was to die for! Overall, a great experience. The only downfall is the small menu that doesn't change often.

So I am well over due for giving Toutant a review. I've went years ago, so long ago I had no idea they added 2 more levels, lol !! But I'm glad I came back!! Honestly, their brunch is now currently one of my favorites !! The cool thing about Toutant is that they have featured homemade baked good every Sunday!! The fan favorite is the cinnamon roll !! So huge you have to share even though you don't want to,lol !! Recently when I went for brunch I had the Honor of the chef who made the cinnamon roll bring it out to me!! Such a friendly guy who is so passionate about his work !! This actually the second I've met him bc he also came and greeted my table when I came for dinner. I Just love the hospitality!!! Back to brunch, I got skillet with scrabble eggs, cheese, hash browns and they were able to sub pork shoulder for BBQ chicken!! This was sooo savory!! I couldn't finish it all. My friend got the Nashville chicken on top of bread topped with an egg and pickles ! There was soooo much chicken and so well cooked, I had to try a piece!! That sauce was really good !! Now dinner was good as well, but don't think it has as wide of a selection as i would have hoped. But still good !! My favorite was the yams !! That meringue omg I loved it !! The chicken was so crispy and golden !!! I will say the biscuits were a lil over done ....i don't have pic of the mashed potatoes but they were so creamy and light !! Toutant is such a cool restaurant with rustic feel and yes and those drinks definitely get you where you need to be !! So if you haven't already get there asap !!

Looking for authentic New Orleans cuisine? Look no further, Toutant has you covered! From the moment you step in, the staff greets you with a Southern charm that makes you feel right at home. The wait staff's friendliness and genuine care is unmatched. Food fantastic. When I tell you the miss no detail, I don't kid... with Crystal hot sauce and sodas produced and bottled in LA (root beer), it just felt like more than just dinner, it was an experience.

Very cute restaurant with authentic cajun food. Got the chicken jambalaya, gratin (a special), collard greens, and the poboy. Everything was pretty tasty. It is pretty expensive for what you get, especially comparing it to the old prices. Inflation, I get it. But $9 for a side of grits is pretty expensive. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and assisted my friends that had dietary restrictions. Definitely worth a try if you're craving some Cajun food. I plan on trying the shrimp and grits next time.

A group of us go to brunch here once a year, the food and service is so good we just keep coming back. This is this group's 5th trip so it's time to let people know! The brunch menu is always diverse with huge portions and AMAZING staff to deliver it all. There is always a nice bourbon special, with this past Sunday's being Blanton. I opted for the Bloody Mary this time and was completely satisfied, tasted very good paired with my open face Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Overall Toutant has shown time and time again to provide great food, tasty libations, and friendly service for a rowdy group of repeat Bills fans.
